My School, Early Education
We use the “Beyond Centers and Circle Time” and “Beyond Cribs and Rattles” curricula which is thematic, play-based and developmentally appropriate for each age group.
The teachers use the Florida standards to plan literature, art, music and dramatic play experiences in addition to specific activities that foster development of fine and gross motor skills, problem solving, emergent literacy, language development and pre-math skills.
Social skills are encouraged as children learn to communicate when they have problems and begin to understand the appropriate options for dealing with different situations.
Children also learn how to follow directions and participate in group activities. Bible stories, lessons and songs are incorporated into the curriculum as the children learn about a loving God who cares for them and wants them to be kind to each other. Our hands-on curriculum does not include television or computer time. On occasion, we may use a short video clip as part of a specific lesson. All children participate in a weekly music class with our music teacher.
Lesson plans for each week and daily class schedules are posted on the large bulletin board in the hall.
